That's when it all started. The market has just opened in Poland. We travelled to Asia as tourists. We needed funds for our exciting travels, so we started trading. Clothes first. However, we quickly noticed that they were traded by everyone, so clothing did not provide any perspective for us. We then decided to look for something else ... and we came up with the idea of bringing underwear to Poland. We resented the fact that the only thing we could find on local shelves was a homespun, PRL-made product or low-quality junk imported from Asia.
This is how we found our way to the underwear industry. We focused on quality from the very beginning. It was a rarity at the time because everyone was looking mainly at the price. When we were sure of our product, we decided to look for a name for it. We wanted it to be positive, related to internationality, activity, optimism, youth and adventure..
HOW ATLANTIC WAS BORN
We registered it in 1994. We decided to direct our offer to those young at heart and active. From the very beginning, we offered the most modern styles. This was not the case in Poland at the time. There were only conservative designs, a whole lot of trash and expensive foreign brands. We entered the market with impetus. We wanted you to come back. WE HAVE CONQUERED CENTRAL AND EASTERN EUROPE
How did we do it? Exactly as we conquered the Polish market before. We have built trust in our brand, the same awareness that you are buying a good product, excellent quality, comfort and design. We entered the Ukrainian, Czech, Slovak and Russian markets at the end of the 1990s. Then there were several awards in Poland (including Superbrands in Poland, Entrepreneur of the Year in the Export category, organized by Ernst & Young), Russia and Ukraine..
THEN CAME THE COLLAPSE
It was in 2014. It was all about the war for Crimea. The currency rate went headlong. They fell twice in Russia and three times in Ukraine. We wanted to restructure the company to adapt to the new circumstances. We were no longer able to deliver the number of products required by the entire sales network. We got into trouble. Back then, over 97% of corporate restructuring applications ended in liquidation. We collided with the wall then. Then it was a few years of struggle to regain the rights to the brand and return to the market. The brand returned to the matrix in 2018. If we hadn't fought, it wouldn't be here today..
From 2020, we are ATLANTIC UNDERWEAR. The team that used to create the brand is bringing it back to the market. So ATLANTIC UNDERWEAR has the same soul. Twenty-six years since it was founded, the brand is is still young and open-minded. On the one hand, it remains the same, on the other, it changes as the world changes. Constantly tries to be one step ahead of others.
